Dare to Dream Gala – May 2
Stories matter. Perspectives matter. Each one of us has a story of how entrepreneurship changed our lives and family trajectory. Perhaps it was a relative who came to this country or our first paper route. Come be inspired by the stories of NFTE students (remember NFTE alumni Rodney Walker from last year?), top entrepreneurs in our ecosystem who Dare to Dream and who enter NFTE classrooms, and certified entrepreneurship teachers. What is your story?
NFTE DC Region’s 15th Annual Dare to Dream Gala is one of Washington, DC’s largest and most exciting networking events that supports youth entrepreneurship.
Guests will have the opportunity to network with 800 top entrepreneurs and business leaders from the region, purchase products and services made by NFTE students during the Youth Entrepreneur Showcase, and enjoy an inspirational dinner and awards ceremony celebrating entrepreneurship.
The purpose of the dinner is to raise funds to provide entrepreneurship education to over 900 youth from low-income communities in the metropolitan Washington, DC area and train high school teachers to deliver our specially tailored, practical business curriculum to students in their schools.
This is an evening full of passion, commitment, and hope where you see students Dare to Dream.

The Goon
The Goon, staring Sean William Scott hits theaters today. The film has been viewable via the on demand option for many cable providers for the past month but the film now gets its true test as it releases to the general public. Filled with fighting, vulgarity, and humor this movie harkens back to the original great Slapshot, which even today still stands the test of time as the definitive hockey film.

Spring Puck Surprise Raises More Than $18,000 for Washington Capitals Charities
The Washington Capitals raised $18,200 for Washington Capitals Charities through the team’s Spring Puck Surprise, which took place at the Caps game against the Minnesota Wild on March 25. The fundraiser featured 455 pucks that were packaged with Hershey’s Kisses and signed by various Capitals players and sold for $40 each. Fans lined up on the concourse to purchase the pucks as soon as they went on sale at 4 p.m. when the doors opened to Verizon Center. The pucks were sold out in less than an hour.
Kevin Dalmut, Barbara Eagan, Keith Lamberg, Christine Simmons and Jason Stein were the Spring Puck Surprise winners. The five winners selected unsigned pucks and therefore got to meet Caps defenseman Mike Green after the Caps victory. Green signed their pucks and took photos with all of the winners.
All proceeds from the Spring Puck Surprise benefit Washington Capitals Charities.
The Capitals would like to congratulate our Spring Puck Surprise winners and thank all of the fans who helped make it a success.

Congratulations Joe Denoyior
The Charity Hockey Committee would like to congratulate one of our own. An original member of the CHC Committee, Joe Denoyior, was recently named one of PLANSPONSOR magazine’s top 100 advisors of the year as well as also being awarded 401kWIRE’s top 10 most influential advisors of the year.
And if all those accolades were not enough to impress, he also has a pretty good slap shot. Congratulations Joe and thank you for all you do to support not only your clients but your community.
