Capitals blood drive 1 month away
Are you ready to add another bobblehead to your Capitals bobble collection? Well the next Capitals blood drive is closer than you think. On Saturday, November 5th Michael Nuevirith will be the player bobblehead and t-shirt offered to blood donors. The slots are almost full so make your appointment today before time runs out.

University of Maryland Collects
350 units of blood were collected last Friday at the inaugural University of Maryland blood drive hosted by Inova. Still short of the current college collection record University of Maryland will get another shot next semester on Monday, February 13th in the STAMP Student Union. Sign up today.

GMU Alumni Weekend
Since Thursday the 29th George Mason University Alumni Weekend has been in full swing. Dinners, social events, speeches and a few drinks have all been going on. All George Mason Alumni are welcomed to spend time with fellow Alumnus, see old friends, make some new ones, or see all the new additions to the campus. Today is the day Terps students, alumni, and faculty to show blood shortage why it should fear the turtle. Come by the Comcast Center from 9am – 5pm to donate blood and receive an exclusive University of Maryland blood donor t-shirt.

Thank you Home Team Handz!
Home Team Handz donated a ton of Home Team Handz to the Charity Hockey Classic and shot this video at the game. The hands were a huge hit with kids and adults alike. Thanks again! (PS – If you kept your Home Team Handz, they also make for an awesome and easy back rub!)

Caps Convention Today
Today is the day. Have you made your check list? Do you have your armbands and badges? Are your cameras charged? Is your hair gelled? Is your lucky jersey clean? If so then you are probably ready to head down to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center to hang out the boys and do your part to help build America’s hockey capital.

UMD blood drive next week
Next week Inova Blood Donor Services will be hosting our first drive with the University of Maryland in over 5 years. The growing need for blood has created an ideal time to partner with the University to promote blood donation amongst young health students. Please consider coming by Comcast center on Friday, September 30th to donate.

International Day of Peace
The International Day of Peace (“Peace Day”) provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of peace on a shared date. It was established by a United Nations resolution in 1981 to coincide with the opening of the General Assembly. The first Peace Day was celebrated in September 1982.
In 2002 the General Assembly officially declared September 21 as the permanent date for the International Day of Peace.
